Northern Conference 8u: Red Wings vs. Canucks
After battling all season for league supremecy, it was no suprise that the Championship Game between the Red Wings and Canucks was once again a evenly matched game. The Red Wings went up 3-2 after the first period and constantly fought off rushes by the Canucks. Final Score: Red Wings - 8, Canucks - 5. All of the teams in this age group showed tremendous progress and great potential for the future. The rest of the Northern conference better watch out for some of these talented young guns! The Red Wings, Canucks, Ducks and Senators are full of great kids who deserve to be recognized. Congratulations to the Red Wings!

Northern Conference 10u: Blues vs. Predators
The Blues capped off their undefeated season (two ties) by sliding by the resiliant Predators. After squeeking out a semi-final victory in the last few seconds, the Blues took this momentum right into the championship game. The Blues came out hot scoring 5 in the first and they would not be denied their well-deserved championship. Final Score: Blues - 7, Predators - 1. This age group was extremely competitive and proved to contain some of the best young players in the area. Congratulations to the Blues, Predators, Blackhawks, and Blue Jackets for a great season!

b>Northern Conference 12u: Flames vs. Oilers
This age group was very competitive all year, but much like the 10u Blues, the Flames snuck through the season with an undefeated record by going 7-0-2. They took their regular season momentum into the championship game but ran into an Oilers team that tied them during the regular season, along with losing twice by 1 goal each time. The game remained within two goals for the first two periods, but the Flames came out hot in the third and tallied 6 goals to secure the victory. Final Score: Flames - 11, Oilers 4. Congratulations to the Flames team as well as members of the Oilers, Avalanche and Wild for making this spring season special and memorable.

Northern Conference14u/16u: Coyotes vs. Stars
During the regular season, any one of these teams could have beaten the other on any given night. This was evident in the semi's when the Coyotes came back from a goal deficit heading into the third period. The Stars also had a nail-bitter as they held off the Sharks to a one goal victory in the Semi's. The championship game fell right in line (no pun intended) as the Stars came out of the first period with a 3-2 advantage. But the second and third period belonged to the Coyotes as they came back to take the championship. Final Score: Coyotes - 7, Stars - 4. We again thank all parents, players, and coaches of the Coyotes, Stars, Sharks, and Kings for an extremely competitive season. We hope to see everyone participate in the 3v3 summer Triad League starting July 23rd.

Southern Conference 8u/10u: Sabres vs. Canadiens
By far, this age group provided the most drama for any of the championship games. The Canadiens went up 1-0 after the first period, but Sabres answered in the second to tie it at 1-1. Each team scored in the third period and at the end of regulation, the game was 2-2. A five minute sudden death overtime didnt provide a winner, so the teams went into a shootout. Both goalies made some great saves, but the Sabres came out victorious. Final Score: Sabres - 3, Canadiens - 2 (ShootOut). Along with the Sabres and Canadiens, the Bruins and Maple Leafs made this spring season great.

Southern Conference 12u: Lightning vs. Panthers
After a dominating performance during the regular season, the Lightning received a first round by and waited to play the winner of Panthers vs. Thrashers. Although the Thrashers were a heavy underdog, they gave the Panthers a run for their money but fell just short. Many wondered if the Lightning might lose some momentum after their bye, especially after being tied after the first period. But the Lightning started to pull away in the second period and never looked back. Final Score: Lightning - 6, Panthers - 3. CCH is pleased to see the growth in this age group and looks forward to continuing this in the future. Thanks to all parents and players of the Lightning, Panthers, and Thrashers.

Southern Conference 14u/16u: Rangers vs. Islanders
Dont let the records fool you from this age group because the Devils were much better than their record shows (four of their losses were by two goals or less). This only speaks volumes on how closely matched all four teams were. The Islanders advanced to the finals on a thrilling overtime goal by Mike Lobue and found themselves matched up against the first place Rangers. The first period of the finals saw 11 goals, 6 of them for the Rangers. After a quiet evenly matched 2nd period, the third period brought another scoring surge by both teams. Final Score: Rangers - 12, Islanders - 10. Congratulations to these two teams as well as the Penguins and Devils for another great season. We hope to see everyone participate in the 3v3 summer Triad League starting July 23rd.
