Does USAHIL provide referee education and certification?
Yes.
The USAHIL Officiating Eduation program offers three levels:
Accredited
Level 1 Certified
Level 2 Certified
When referees register with USAHIL, they receive a rulebook as well as an open-book format exam. Once they achieve a passing score on this exam (35/50, or 70%), they reach the 'Accredited' classification, and are sent their Referee Card as well as the current year's crest for their jersey.
If a referee receives additional training by attending a USA Hockey Inline Referee Clinic conducted by a USA Hockey Inline trained instructor, they referee may obtain either a Level 1 or 2 certification status based upon the clinic level they attend.
To be eligible to attend a Level 2 Referee Clinic, the referee must have previously obtained the Level 1 certification.
